About

I am a wife, mum of 2, emotional intelligence coach, speaker and the CEO of the Hummingbird Life Academy. I have spent the last 4 years researching and coaching parents, children and teens on how anxiety shows up in our body, how to effectively manage anxiety, big emotions and increase emotional intelligence in the family environment. Emotional intelligence affects every part of our lives, from how you feel about yourself, to being able to understand other people’s emotions and how you build strong, meaningful relationships. By giving yourself and your child a solid foundation of emotional intelligence you are opening up the doors to improved learning, greater self-worth, increased confidence and the ability to positively manage life’s challenges.

At the request of numerous parents my program has also been adapted for the work environment where increasing emotional intelligence in the workplace can have a profound impact on employee’s mental health, productivity, and profits. The corporate course is currently undergoing CPD approval.

I am passionate about supporting people of any age on their journey to increased confidence, improved self-love and giving them the tools to be masters of their own body, mind and emotions. I am a CPD Accredited trainer and my course, ‘Mind Wizards – Working Magic on Little Minds’ is also CPD Accredited and Accredited by the ACOP (Accreditation Council for Online Programs).

I'd get to the middle of August and start thinking about all the things we hadn't done. We hadn't been to the beach as much as I'd planned. The craft activities I'd bought were still sitting in the cupboard. I'd seen all these lovely ideas online that I was definitely going to do... and somehow...

When the Summer Holidays Don't Quite Go to Plan
The summer holidays are almost here! In my head, I've already imagined how they're going to go. We'll have lovely family days out, the sun will be shining, the kids will be smiling, they'll play beautifully together and we'll make memories they'll treasure forever. Then reality arrives. It's about 9.15 on the first morning and somebody has already said, "I'm bored." I suggest going to the beach. One child rolls their eyes. The other says they don't want to. Someone complains their brother...

Navigating Christmas as a Neurodiverse Family
The Season of Sensory Overload For many neurodivergent children (and adults!), Christmas can feel like one long sensory explosion. The flashing lights, loud music in every shop, and different smells from candles and food — it’s a lot. My child once said, “It feels like my brain is full of fireworks I didn’t light.” And honestly, I get it. We now keep a “calm corner” at home — a small, cosy space where lights are dimmed, noise is minimal, and there’s comfort in predictability. Ear defenders,...
